Waste water treatment plant for the Wilhelmshaven power plant
In the first half of 2009 HAGER + ELSÄSSER were awarded the contract for the realization of the waste water treatment plant for the new, ultra-modern coal fired 800 MW power plant “Wilhelmshaven”.

3D model of the waste water treatment plant
The waste water treatment consists of the following stages:
- Chemical precipitation of sulphate and separation of suspended solids (first precipitation stage)
- Chemical precipitation of heavy metals and sedimentation (second precipitation stage)
- Waste water filtration
- Sludge dewatering with fully automated chamber filter press
Having chosen this concept, our customer benefits from the following advantages:
- Effluent values will be considerably lower than the legal discharge limits which will facilitate the approval procedures
- The possibility to run each of the precipitation stages separately results in a high availability of the plant.
- Compact design leads to considerable savings in the service building.
- 2 tanks for deionised water are included in the scope of supply.
Assembly of the water treatment plant will start in March 2010, commissioning is planned for the third quarter 2010.
